Renovations allow you to alter and or update your property without the need to move to a completely different property. When completing works internally there may be the need to consult a structural engineer for the purpose of removing load bearing walls and opening adjoining rooms. If you have visions of your own and are not looking for inspiration there may still be the requirement of sourcing and architect to ensure the practicalities of the changes you would like to make. RSJ Installation and knock through

This project consisted of a small extension and structural alterations throughout the property to make use of the space in this naturally big bungalow. The customers vision was to enhance the already spacious area by creating a kitchen dining area. We came up with removing the whole side out of the property with the use of RSJ's and columns. We also added a decorative brickwork feature panel for the fireplace and wrap around pillars out of lime mortar and buff brick - creating a modern yet country twist. This project took 6 weeks start to completion.

RSJ Installation and Ground Floor Renovation

After building an L shape extension for our customers we then had several internal knock throughs to complete in order to open up the space. We installed an RSJ in place of the supporting wall. We then blocked up the back wall leading to the old kitchen to create a new living space. The old kitchen is now newly renovated into an office space

Wall Removal

Installing RSJ’s enable us to remove load bearing walls with the help of structural engineer’s calculations. Having a structural engineer involved in your project is crucial and non-negotiable when it comes to installing steels and maintaining the structural integrity of your property.

Finish

Finally, we begin the stages of finishings, electrics, plumbing, kitchen installation, Karndean and painting to name a few. This customer opted for Velux windows and Bi folding doors which really optimised the light intake of the room. Full Extension of this property can be found in our “Extensions” service.
